Amelia Drops 'No Idea' Cover

Story by: Lucky Ezeinuaku

If you don't know Amelia, get to know her fast! She's a promising Atlanta-based artist building her discography on Soundcloud and YouTube with tracks like NOTHING FEELS BETTER and her latest addition F.L.I.R.T. She recently released a cover of Houston rapper Don Toliver's hit single No Idea, and it slaps.

Her melodious notes were accompanied by a video that features red lighting reminiscent of the Don Toliver version. Along with the softened vocals, her cover video is much less brash compared to the fast-paced, psychedelic original.

The gentle, wave-like flow of the music is accompanied by gliding cinematography from a single video camera that feeds viewers an impression of intimacy. Aside from the lighting and lyrics, the cover starkly contrasts the original production and caters to listeners seeking a more mellow mood.

Though the video is simple, as one would expect from a fresh-faced talent, it is well executed and worthy of viewership. If for no other reason, to remember a face that we could see on billboards someday, so you can say, “I knew her on her way up.”
