Atlanta restaurant giants team up on new vegan eatery

Two of Atlanta's premiere Black restauranteurs have teamed up on a new venture!

She's a Clark-Atlanta grad who's vegan food truck quickly turned into a vegan empire. He's a Philly native who brought "a taste of Philly" to Atlanta via a tiny cheesesteak stand in a Dunwoody gas station. Now, Pinky Cole of Slutty Vegan and Derrick Hayes of Big Dave's Cheesesteaks have launched a new restaurant in Midtown, Dinkies!

A combination of Dave and Pinky's names, Dinkies will be located inside of Pinky's new bar, Bar Vegan, which opened on the second floor of Ponce City Market on Feb. 28.

The eatery inside an eatery serves vegan cheesesteaks, vegan egg rolls, loaded vegan tater tots, and cauliflower wings, in addition to handcrafted cocktails!

Pinky says that the two teaming up on a new restaurant was a "no-brainer". Pinky now has three Slutty Vegan restaurants in the metro-Atlanta area, in addition to her original food truck. And Derrick has two Big Dave's locations in the city, and a food truck as well. Both were excited to unveil this new plant-based concept.

This isn't the first time these two have collaborated. After the police murder of Rayshard Brooks, Pinky and Derrick teamed up to gift Rayshard's wife with a new car, and awarded full scholarships to Clark Atlanta University to all four of his children.
