Story by: Taneia Surles

Georgia's first Black-owned brewery has officially opened it's doors! Hippin Hops Brewery & Oyster Bar had it's grand opening this past weekend (April 24), and they're already planning for the opening of their second location in June!

The original Hippin Hops is located in East Atlanta Village (1308 Glenwood Ave.), and the second location will be just three miles over in East Lake.

Founded by Donnica and Clarence Boston, Hippin Hops provides customers with authentic and flavorful beers that have gone through the couple's detailed brewing process. Their mission is to bring Atlanta a unique brewery experience that they’ll never forget.

The first location will be “more of a true brewery,” according to the Boston's, focusing on the beer. While the second location in East Lake will have “more of a restaurant vibe.”

Both kitchens will be run by executive chef Jamarius “J.” Banks, a former contestant on the Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay.

In addition to the two locations, Hippin Hops also plans to sell its craft beers to other local Atlanta bars and restaurants, and will even sell canned beers in retail stores in the future!

Hippin Hops offers brunch, lunch, and late-night meals, including oysters and other types of seafood. Guests can enjoy their meals in a beautiful outdoor space, which includes a rooftop bar, and fun games such as corn hole, beer pong, and Jenga!

Congrats to Donna and Clarence on the new venture!
