DAYSHAWNx Drops 'One' Music Video

Story by: Je'Kayla Crawford

DAYSHAWNx might have started his career in the background, but he's front and center now.

A singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist, the talented upstate New York native has built his career from the ground-up since moving to Atlanta in 2013, touring with some of the industry's biggest acts, including Grammy-nominated singer Emily King.

He has performed in some the country's most iconic venues, including The Roxy, Variety Playhouse, and even Radio City Music Hall.

“In 2013 I left NY broken, broke and defeated in life," he wrote on his Instagram page. "I had $300 my guitar and my truck. By the time I arrived to Atlanta I had $20! My brother opened his doors to me I had no job or honestly any inspiration to get one. I tried for months to find something and meanwhile still had $20 in my pocket. Fast forward 3 years and the first time I play back home it’s at Radio City Music Hall.”

After dropping his debut album Oh Freedom in January, DAYSHAWNx is back with his first official summer release in One. The video, a stripped back acoustic performance that hits you right in the gut, provides that feeling of unity that we’ve been craving for so long. Press play on DAYSHAWNx's One below.
