Solidarity march planned following racially motivated Atlanta shootings

The Atlanta Justice Alliance along with nine other local organizations, have joined forces to organize a solidarity march, in light of the eight people who were murdered in an anti-Asian attack on Tuesday (3/16/21).

The march will take place Saturday, March 20 at 1pm at Woodruff Park.

Robert Aaron Long, 21, was charged Wednesday with eight counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault. He claims his attacks were motivated by his "sex addiction" and not race, however, six of his eight victims were of Asian descent.

The victims were all employees at three Atlanta-area massage parlors; Young's Asian Massage, Gold Spa and Aromatherapy Spa. These were all technically legally operating businesses, however, all three of them can be found on a site called 'Rubmaps', an erotic review site that allows users to search for illicit massage parlors. This is leading investigators to believe that the businesses were not entirely above-board.

Under the table business like this often leave the women working at them vulnerable to abuse and violence. It's clear that Long's misogyny and white supremacy assisted in him justifying these murders.
